So I touched on this a while back but I thought I’d dedicate this post to giving a good shout out to quitting the gym. I started back at the gym at 8 weeks post- partum with a fresh face and a vision in mind; fast weight loss. I couldn’t have been more naive if I tried. Firstly ‘fast weight loss’ postpartum is not only a myth but also SO UNHEALTHY. Secondly, the gym just didn’t work for me anymore.
It was only when I was trying on my trusty Mothercare leggings that I realised that they were WAY too big. I must’ve lost a comfortable amount of weight. I’m not going to sit here and say that it’s just ‘melted off’ as some sites said it would. It’s been hard graft. I also want to stress that I’m not completely back to my pre-pregnancy weight but I’m comfortable.
I have been using these awesome work outs online; Hasfit have been my fitness rock. I discovered their workouts through flicking through YouTube and then on their site. Their 15, 20 , 30 + minute workouts meant that I could work around my daughter’s ever-changing nap schedule. They also have a dynamic range of workouts that vary from HIIT training to individual areas, full body workouts and even kick-boxing (which was pretty cool). They also have tailor-made fitness programmes for literally EVERYBODY. There’s even one for pregnant women and new mums which I think is fab.
What I really like is the fact that there is no pressure to overwork yourself. As someone who used to frequent gym classes I know how easy it is to get swept into peer pressure and completely overdo it. You are of course encouraged to push yourself but not to stupid extremes. This is great for someone like me who hasn’t always been great with striking a life/exercise balance.
I would definitely recommend Hasfit workouts over and over again to anybody wanting to lose weight, get stronger, maintain or even take up a hobby. It’s nice to get a break for 40 minutes! It’s also nice to get results from a realistic routine.
